| What is a Weight Pull Title, Anyway? Not just a brag, not just a stepping stone to a higher title, A title is a tribute to the dog that bears it, a way to honor the dog, an ultimate memorial. It will remain, in record and in memory, for as long as anything in this world can remain. Few humans will do as well or better in that regard. And though the dog itself doesn't know or care that its achievements have been noted, a title says many things in the world of humans, where such things count. A title says your dog was intelligent, and adaptable, and good-natured. It says that your dog loved you enough to do things that please you, however crazy they may have sometimes seemed. And a title says that you loved your dog, that you loved to spend time with it because it was a good dog, that you believed in it enough to give it yet another chance when it failed, and that, in the end, your faith was justified. A title proved that your dog inspired you to that special relationship enjoyed by so few; that, in a world of disposable creatures, this dog with a title was greatly loved, and loved greatly in return. And when that dear, short life is over, the title remains as a memorial of the finest kind, the best you can give to a deserving friend, volumes of praise in one small set of intials before the dog's name. A weight pull title is nothing less than love and respect, given and received and permanently recorded. |
| We are a small kennel located on a few acres, in the quiet countryside, just south of Oklahoma City. All of our dogs are active and very competitive in the sport of weight pull. In our home, weight pull is not only a sport, it's a way of life! We have been acitvely participating in the sport for about 4 years now and have learned many things and met some good people along the way! We are both sanctioned weight pull judges (ADBA &/or APA) and are here to lend a hand to anyone in need. We want this sport to grow in a positive way so that our children will be able to enjoy it as-much-as we do! The majority of our dogs consist of Whopper blood and we have added out crosses such as: Torque (Jeep blood-much thanks to Gary Miller). We do not breed very often, and when we do it is for our yard and to be able to produce the next generation of weight pull champions. We do have pups available from time to time, due to the fact that we cannot keep them all, that are very intelligent-with great structure and form, very willing to please and learn, sheer determination and the gameness of a true APBT (Gameness in APBT's is a canine virtue that is most akin to the human virtue of unflagging courage. It is a determination to master any situation and never back down out of fear). If you have any questions or comments please contact us at 405-381-9945 or douglaspits@yahoo.com |
